Q&A with Jorge
Safe Seed Ordering
I live in Costa Rica, and one of my dreams is to try the famous Jack Herer weed. If I buy some seeds over the Web, will I have legal problems? I just want to know what my chances are of getting the weed.
You are fortunate to speak English: You can order seeds directly from Canada, the UK and Holland. Spanish-language speakers can also order from Spain. One of the biggest Spanish seed sellers via the Internet is hipersemillas.com.
You can buy seeds in the UK or Spain easily. There are many seed outlets that ship worldwide and are very discreet. I have several friends in Costa Rica who grow seeds sent from Europe and Canada. Rather than gathering all your information and ordering over the Internet, I suggest that you call several companies and ask them how they ship the seeds and how much experience they have shipping to Costa Rica. Talking to seed-company representatives over the telephone will also give you a feel for how they treat customers. Check out seedbankupdate.com for information on seed companies and their reputations.
The chances of any problems are slim to nil when seeds are packed properly and sent from Europe or Canada. You should also consider having the seeds sent to a safe address; this will give you an additional layer of security.
