Resin and Drying
A few friends and I were having a heated discussion the other night on the topic of resin. The question we need you to answer is does resin lose THC potency over time, as it dries.
Yes. Resin can start to biodegrade the moment the plant is harvested. The care taken at harvest and during drying and curing will help retain potency. Furthermore, resin on dry buds degrades faster in hot dry sunny conditions. Direct sunlight is a major enemy as is heat. Store cannabis buds at 60-70 degrees or cooler. Warmer temperatures will hasten decomposition.
Mexican and much third-world outdoor weed is given little care and compressed into bricks for ease of transport. In the compression process many resin glands are fractured which further speeds decomposition. In fact, the resin glands are so shattered that you cannot make descent hash out of bricked weed. This is why it is not as potent as well cared for home grown.
